OCCUPY PHOENIX

October 15, 2011: Thousands of Arizonans gather in front of the Phoenix municipal building in support of Occupy Wall Street, a movement of the sensible majority of Americans who are sick of being misrepresented by the corporate-sponsored right-wing Republicans and Tea Party astroturfers. This is the real grass roots. We may not all be saying the same thing, but our messages harmonize. The economy, and the government, belong to the people. Corporations have stolen both. We want them back! ~~CosmicRat

Eat The Rich!

No Free Trade! The signholder is right. Free trade isn't freedom- it's a license for corporate exploitation of the people. I think the CDS sign stands for Credit Default Swaps, which should indeed be banned.

Women in Black For Justice. Against War

Women for Marijuana- The Phoenix March Our mission is to empower and educate women to choose a natural, safer alternative to prescription drugs and alcohol.

3 Jobs. No Health Care. We are the 99%

Anonymous members of the 99 percent.

We have the man power; knowledge; technology to feed, clothe, shelter, educate and heal the world.

Privatize this! I love this lady's spirit. Hands off Social Security and Medicare! The sign to the right is against Russell Pearce, a right-wing AZ legislator, who is being recalled by voters.

That stuff trickling down on you isn't money.

If any Wells Fargo execs are watching from the windows, they might be getting a bit nervous. I hope so.

They only call it Class Warfare when we fight back. Big business silences the 99 %: Ban corporate elections spending.

These must be the Cow Boys. I thought they were vegetarians until I read the sign: Eat more chicken.

A bagpipe solo- it actually sounded great, and I'm not usually a bagpipe fan.

We are change. We are truth. We are the 99 percent.
The boxes on the ground in the background had signs saying Free Market- they were clothing and household items offered free to anyone who wanted or needed them. That's the kind of Free Market that works.

Bruce Wayne wouldn't dodge taxes!

Calvin Goode really was a good guy. A Phoenix city councilman for 22 years, he was a strong civil rights advocate.

Once upon a time many conservatives were actually reasonable, responsible human beings capable of independent thinking, not the propaganda-soaked corporate pawns we see today. The man holding the sign may well be right about his grandfather.

How's that trickle-down thingy working for you?

Boycott Arizona's Centenial- 100 years of hate-hood. The man on the stage is doing anti-racism / pro-immigration rap.

I am American Indian occupied by corporations 500 years. I am (we are) the 99 percent!

Her tattoo is beautiful.

No more greed.

Millions of Americans need jobs. Republicans won't help. They'd rather blame Obama for the economy. We know who to blame, though.

The money from the immigrants also goes to Wall Street. Yes, immigrants, legal or not, do pay taxes, and they contribute to the profits of corporations that hire them at low wages, yet the corporate pawns want us to hate them, dividing the working people, diluting our power.

Caution: Citizens in street are angrier than they appear.

It's not a movement. It's a revolution!

We, the people demand Congress: (1) Pass HR 1489 (3)End corporate financing of elections (6) Repeal the Patriot Act (7) End the war on drugs. (8) Immediate military withdrawal from the Middle East (9) Apologize to the...rest of the world. I'm not sure about 2,4, and 5, but these were all excellent demands.

Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have (led?), the indifference of those who should have known better, the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most that has made it possible for evil.

Healthcare, not Warfare.

Decolonize Wall Street Decolonize the 99 percent.
