The information you need is available. So is lots of misinformation, and an infinite variety of opinions. There are no perfect politicians, but NEVER think that voting doesn't matter. Please vote for a SANE person.

ONLINE SAFETY GUIDE
One tip I don't think it mentions is: DON'T USE WINDOWS! Linux is much safer, works just as well (often better) and it's free.
